Additional Duty Days
The additional duty days are currently available to the Automotive Technology, Automotive Collision, Architecture and Construction, Welding, Agriculture, Cosmetology, Family Consumer Science, Health Science and Marketing Teachers at La Joya I.S.D. high schools and are used to recruit students for the CTE programs, meet with business and industry partners and/or to set up classrooms to provide effective CTE programs.
After-school CTE Programs Protocol Comprehensive High Schools
Prior approved career clusters will provide after-school CTE programs in order to increase the numbers of student industry certifications, increase STC certificates and meet the Adult Learner Program(s) goals.
Career Day for Grades 3rd - 8th Grades
The students in Grades 3rd – 8th will learn about the different careers and/or career clusters available at the comprehensive high schools presented during career day in order to comply with state and federal regulations of providing career awareness and exploration in the 3rd – 8th grades.
Monitoring Protocol for Comprehensive High Schools Grades 9th – 12th
ELL and/or SP ED students coded with a 2 at the comprehensive high schools in Grades 9th–12th and have failed one or more EOC assessments will be monitored in order to increase the academic performance of these special populations.
Online Career Planning System for Elementary Campuses
All PK-5th grade students will use this online career planning system in order to comply with state and federal regulations of providing career awareness in the elementary grades.
Online Career Planning System For Secondary Campuses
All secondary students will use this online career planning system in order to comply with state and federal regulations of providing career exploration in the secondary grades.
Yearly Vehicle Renewal Registration/Inspection
CTE staff assigned to the CTE vehicles are not allowed to use them with expired registrations/inspections.
