Your School Counselor is an important resource in supporting your academic interests and goals. Whether you are seeking to improve in a course and find strategies to reach your goals or find ways to connect your post-secondary aspirations to the courses you select in high school and activities you are involved in, your School Counselor is here to assist in this work.Â
First and foremost, students are encouraged to make plans to connect with their teacher(s) whenever they have any additional questions, seek clarification or obtain additional support. School Counselors are here to help students navigate having these conversations with teachers and in creating schedules to maintain academic goals. School Counselors can also meet together with students and teachers as needed to work together as a team to support educational needs and goals. Goal-oriented and short-term planning tools are emphasized by School Counselors to support students' needs.
