Current 12th Graders
Students and parents are sent the LHS Blanket Authorization Form for all transcripts needed for post-secondary applications beginning in the Spring of your 11th grade year. This authorization form authorizes the LHS School Counseling Department to release records to accompany your child's post-secondary (college) applications. In addition, this form contains the Livingston High School FERPA waiver regarding letters of recommendation.
Students should make an appointment to see their school counselor at least three weeks prior to application deadlines. The counselor-student meeting will also help facilitate the counselor recommendation. Your School Counselor will review with you in detail the schools/programs to which you are applying. Please DO NOT leave any college paperwork in your counselor’s mailbox.
School Counselors will post their Senior Meeting Calendly link in Schoology during the first week of school for students to sign up for their meeting.
During this meeting, School Counselors will move colleges where students will be submitting applications to the "Colleges I'm Applying To" list. Thereafter, your School Counselor will process your materials (which includes: submitting your LHS transcript, the LHS School Profile, their letter of recommendation and the Secondary School Report form) for each institution by 15 school days after your appointment.
Scholarships:
When Seniors are applying for outside of LPS scholarships throughout the year, please be sure to communicate in advance with your School Counselor about any applications that require submission of an official transcript and a letter of recommendation from them. If you only need your official transcript sent to a scholarship program, contact your school counselor. A consent form must be completed and provided for each individual scholarship that a transcript needs to be submitted to.
