Dark Olive Lowe's Cabinet Credenza

Custom made credenza made from 2 x Lowe's upper kitchen cabinets

Once the two cabinets were combined as one using wood glue and screws, a top was created out of two x solid red oak boards. They were glued together on the long edge and cut with a table saw to the correct depth (12"). Note: 1" x 12" are really .75" x 11.25" and since the Lowe's wall cabinets are 12" deep on the outside you need to buy two 8" wide boards and glue them together and cut down.

Since this cabinet was going to be painted I used Hardboard for the sides instead of solid red oak. Saves on money and weight. Hardboard was cut to size and wood glued to the outer sides of the cabinet.

The base was also made out of one 1" x 3" x 8' red oak and one 2" x 2" x 3' red oak. DIY Wife tutorial was followed for design and build process.

The body of the credenza was painted in the color Dark Olive by Benjamin Moore in COMMAND Satin.

The top and base was stained with Minwax Espresso followed by Varathane Black. They were sealed with Minwax Fast Drying Oil Based Polyurethane in Semi Gloss. The poly was diluted 30% with Mineral Spirits to wipe it on instead of brushing or spraying.

Inside cabinets were primmed with Bin Shellac primer.

Inside liner was added to the shelves.

New Champagne Bronze pulls were added.

Swapped out stock hinges with soft close.
