The LHS social work department provides confidential counseling and psychotherapy to students for mental health issues.

The social work department is staffed by New York State licensed social workers that are highly qualified in the mental health field.

Students are generally referred to the social work office by school counselors, administrators, teachers, parents, peers or student’s themselves. Counseling services are free and voluntary.

Confidentiality is maintained under Federal regulations.
