Dr. Tony Karam received his Ph.D. in Electrical and Energy Engineering from Saint-Joseph University of Beirut in 2025. He also earned a Master of Engineering Management (MEM) in 2004 and a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering in 2001, both from the American University of Beirut (AUB), Lebanon.
He has been a part-time instructor at the Lebanese International University (LIU), Lebanon, since February 2015, teaching graduate and undergraduate courses in both the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering & the Department of Industrial Engineering. He also serves as a part-time instructor in the Department of Industrial Engineering at Saint Joseph University of Beirut, Lebanon.
In addition to his academic involvement, Tony Karam has 17+ years of experience working as an electro-mechanical engineer handling installation, testing & commissioning and maintenance of electrical and mechanical systems in high-end commercial building projects.
His research interests include Energy Planning / Optimization, Energy Storage, Renewable Energy, Power System Analysis, Operations Research (OR), and Engineering Project Management.
He is also a Certified Energy Manager (CEM®) and a Project Management Professional (PMP®).
