BACKGROUND & PURPOSE OF THIS SITE
Launched in 2007, the Literate Worker Initiative is a multi-agency effort to improve and coordinate local education and employment services for adults with limited English language and/or basic skills. The Initiative has had great success addressing service gaps and establishing a continuum of services to help individuals progress toward their education and employment goals with minimal barriers.
This site is designed for those who work directly with adults -- teachers, tutors, navigators and caseworkers -- so they can quickly and easily access information to facilitate cross-agency referrals.
An interactive guide to help you to find a program or service that matches your client/student's needs, and provides detailed information on program services, eligibility requirements, and enrollment processes.
Program brochures and flyers that describe on-going services (not time-sensitive). NOTE: Information and flyers for time sensitive events and recruitment efforts should be emailed to the Literate Worker group instead of being posted here.
