Year 9 Food Technology
Food Technology gives you a great way to develop skills for life.
As part of your studies you will:
gain a broad knowledge and understanding of the properties of food
processing techniques
preparation techniques
nutritional considerations
consumption patterns
understand the importance of hygiene and safe work practices that fall within food legislation requirements.
Unit Topics
There are four unit topics in year 9 Food technology, these are:
Food Selection and Health
Food in Australia
Food Product Development
Food Equity
There are four assessments tasks, one for each unit all weighted 25% each.
Overall the subject is broken into 40% theory and 60% practical components.
