My name is Silvia Barrera. I was born in El Salvador in Central America.  I moved to Houston, TX when I was 10 years old.  I moved to Longview, TX in 1999 and graduated from Pine Tree High School. I attended Kilgore College where I got my Associates of Arts in 2006.  I started working with LISD in 2010 as a Head Start Instructional Assistant. In 2020 I graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University with my bachelor degree in education.  This is my second year at JL Everhart Elementary School as a first grade teacher.  I am married and have three children.  I want to make a difference in the life of all my students.  Every child can succeed.
