My name is Bitia Saravia and I am a proud Longview graduate.  I am blessed with two wonderful children and the best teacher supporting husband I could have ever dreamed of! I have provided my students with a loving,  nurturing classroom and it is largely due to my husband's creativity and support. 

This is my eleventh year at J.L. Everhart. I have taught third grade, supported my campus as IB coordinator, and am thrilled to be in fifth grade for a seventh year.  I team teach in a dual language classroom with an amazing teacher, Mrs. Aura Djurisic.  I am responsible for the English part of the dual language program: math and English language arts. 

Born in El Salvador, I am a product of the bilingual education program offered in Texas.  I aim to give my students the opportunity to be bilingual, biliterate and bicultural.  

As an IB teacher, I share the mission of the programme: to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.
