Crispus Attucks

The soldier was eventually supported by 8 additional soldiers, who were subjected to verbal threats and repeatedly hit by clubs, stones, and snowballs.

Soon a crowd of 400 townspeople were on the scene confronting the soldiers daring them to fire.

They fired into the crowd, without orders, killing five people.

Crispus Attucks, an African-American man, is largely believed to be the first victim of the massacre and the first to die for the Revolutionary cause.
