Mission Statement

The Lisbon Music Boosters Association is a volunteer organization made of up of parents, students (current and alumni), teachers, and community members who have an interest in supporting the performing ensembles of the Lisbon School system. The group was founded in 2005 to help raise the funds necessary to send a group of band and chorus students from grade 5-12 to Washington, DC to participate in the National Anthem Project. Since then the organization has raised tens of thousands of dollars to purchase instruments for the schools, provide scholarships for students attending summer music camps, provide funding for students to participate in the Great East Festival, provide additional funding for instrument repair and maintenance, and purchase music for exchange concerts. We were also fortunate to be awarded a $5000 grant in 2009 and additional $2500 is 2018 from the Alfred Senter Fund in Brunswick which was used to purchase instruments for the school instrument loan program for students with financial needs.

In addition to fund raising the music booster provides volunteer support assisting the music directors at each of the school with set up and break down of concerts, supervision of students a large events, chaperoning concert tours and exchange concerts, folding of programs, and much much more. As a gesture of thanks to the students for all the hard work and dedication throughout the school year the Music Boosters puts on an annual picnic at the LCS soccer field and gives out prizes to the top selling students from each of our fundraisers.
