Band Program

The Lisbon High School Chorus is a non-auditioned ensemble made up of students in grades 9 through 12. Our ensemble performs several times throughout the school year. We participate in an annual exchange concert with Oakhill HS, Monmouth Academy, Leavitt HS, Snow Pond Academy for Arts and Islesboro Central School. This year we are performing in combine ensemble with the middle school chorus at the Great East Festival, a adjudicated festival in the Greater Salem, NH area. Our performance is evaluated on the following criteria: Intonation/breath support, diction/vowel formation, expressivity, rhythmic and pitch accuracy, and phrasing. Students receive a rating of bronze, silver, gold, or platinum based on the merit of their performance. Following the performance the a few of the adjudicators conduct a work shop with the kids. We finish each school year by having the honor of performing at Lisbon High School graduation ceremony.

The winter concert is held in the performing arts center at LHS and the district nights are held in the gymnasium. Admission is $2.00 per person or $5.00 per family. We are always in need of parent volunteers to assist with the set up and break down of concerts. Thank you for supporting your child's music education.

This year in addition to our regular performance schedule the music department will be joining forces with the drama program and Alma Lea Dance Studio to put on a benefit concert to help raise funds for the Performing Art Center Initiative. The concert is tentatively set to take place on Tuesday, May 21st 6:30 p.m. in the Lisbon High School Gymnasium. For more information on the LAPCI organization please email Angela Shambarger at
