Academic learning at home resources have been created to provide opportunities for students to engage in meaningful learning experience during the school closure. Below you will find a list of activities that your child can complete both independently and with your support.
Learning Logs are to be completed each day when work is done. These logs will be turned in at the end of the week to your teacher. Your teacher will be in contact with you this week. If you have any questions, please contact your teacher.
Create a magazine cover that features articles about the political parties in the United States. The magazine cover should include at least one cover-sized picture and the titles of the articles contained in the magazine. The titles of the articles should indicate an understanding of the political parties’ platforms, and the role of political parties, including third party candidates, in the political process.

After researching information about the Iranian Hostage Crisis and the Iran Contra Affair, contemplate whether the United States should ever bargain/negotiate with foreign countries that take U.S. hostages or should sanctions and force be the overriding actions taken against nations that oppose the United States ideologies and position on World Affairs. Explain your opinion in a well developed paragraph using arguments that support your sentiments.
Create a map of the physical geography of East Asia. Create an overlay map that depicts the settlement patterns of East Asia. The maps should include titles, compass roses, and legends. The maps should be accompanied by a list of three questions that could be answered by an analysis of the patterns shown on the maps.
Extension Activity
Create a picture portfolio that addresses the question, “How has globalization affected East and Southeast Asia over time?” The portfolio should include at least six pictures, with explanations of each picture’s relationship to the effects of globalization in the region.
Create a magazine cover from a pro-revolutionary point of view that illustrates the different political, economic and social conditions in France that ultimately led to the French Revolution. Topics to research may include:

Magazine cover should include a title, date published, sub-titles of articles with descriptions to be included in the magazine and pictures that represent the different conditions in France. Be creative in the design. Any medium may be used including hand drawn, computer graphics or web designed such as Canva.
