Academic learning at home resources have been created to provide opportunities for students to engage in meaningful learning experience during the school closure. Below you will find a list of activities that your child can complete both independently and with your support.
Learning Logs are to be completed each day when work is done. These logs will be turned in at the end of the week to your teacher. Your teacher will be in contact with you this week. If you have any questions, please contact your teacher.
Look around inside and outside of your house for objects that possess the characteristics below.
Parallel lines
Perpendicular lines
Positive slope
Negative slope
Zero slope
Undefined slope
Positive quadratic
Negative quadratic
For each example, sketch the object you find on the coordinate plane. Identify the key features of the graph, including x-intercept, y-intercept, zeros, and slope (if they exist). Do not use the same example more than once.

Do not use the same example/picture twice.
Label each graph with the correct type of function.
Each year, a charity hosts a walk as a fundraising event. The walk starts in Reese Park and then continues along Bell Avenue.
1. The route of the first section of the walk is along an east-west path in the park. The walk starts at point A, at marker 32 on the path, and continues to point B, at marker 4, as shown in the diagram.
The markers labeled on the path are spaced 200 meters apart (ex. from 28 to 32 is 200 meters). What is the distance in meters between points A and B?
A water station is located at the midpoint of AB. At what marker on the path is the water station located?
A first-aid booth is located ¾ of the distance from point A to point B.
At what marker on the path is the first-aid booth located?
2. The second section of the walk continues from point B along Bell Avenue to the finish line at point C, as shown on the map.
Each unit on the map represents 1 kilometer. What is the distance in kilometers from point B to point C?
What is the total length of the race (from point A to point B and from point B to point C) in kilometers?
A water station is located at the midpoint M of BC. Another water station is located at the midpoint N of MC. A race coordinator says that the map coordinates of point N are (6, 8). Is the race coordinator correct? Support your answer.

Write a brief explanation of what the following terms mean:
Online banking
Overdraft protection
Processing fees
ATM and debit card fees
You recently converted to an online banking account. It also came with a debit card. Upon reading the conditions of the account, you discover that in addition to a $7 monthly fee, there is a $0.25 charge for each electronic check and $0.25 for each swipe of the debit card. Therefore, you consider acquiring a separate credit card. The credit card comes with a $108 annual fee.
Let x represent your number of monthly transactions, i.e., both electronic checks and credit card swipes. Write a linear function that represents the total fees assigned to your debit card each month.
What is the monthly cost of the credit card you are considering?
How many monthly transactions would you need to make on your debit card to match the monthly charge of the credit card?
The online banking account has a $7 monthly fee. How many transactions do you need to average each month to justify the additional credit card?
