Academic learning at home resources have been created to provide opportunities for students to engage in meaningful learning experience during the school closure. Below you will find a list of activities that your child can complete both independently and with your support.
Learning Logs are to be completed each day when work is done. These logs will be turned in at the end of the week to your teacher. Your teacher will be in contact with you this week. If you have any questions, please contact your teacher.
Do a good deed: In this time of need, go and do a good deed! I know that you can’t really “go” but you can do something to help a family member! Email me and let me know what you chose to do.
Clean out a closet/room and make a donation bag: We all have things we have outgrown/no longer use. Take this time to clean out something, with your parent’s permission, and make a donation bag. The white boxes are available to accept donations by the new gym. Let me know what you decided to clean out. You could also help a parent clean out the pantry, and donate to the food pantry here in Lipan.
Write a card to a nursing home of your choice: Write a card to a nursing home of your choice. The residents there are all isolated from their families and would love to get something sweet and colorful from you. If you need a stamp, let me know and we can work something out. Snap a picture and email it to me.
Make a meal for your family: Email me and let me know what you chose to make and how it turned out.
Host a family game night: Be the host/hostess with the most/mostess.
Clean out your fridge: Tell me what different kinds of food products are/were in your refrigerator. Next, wipe it out, clean out the drawers. Help your parents out. Please ask before throwing food away. :) Email me a picture of your freshly cleaned fridge.
Spend 30 minutes outside: Pull weeds, mow the yard, help plant something (like a garden), do something productive outside, preferably that has to do with food. Email me and tell me what you did. Pictures are a plus.
Write two paragraphs telling me how your favorite food is preserved for long term keeping I.E. freezing, canned, dried…Email me what you find out.
What have you noticed that has happened to the food industry since we have been out of school? Write two paragraphs telling me what you have observed. Email them to me.
Make a new recipe. Email me the recipe and how you and your family liked it.
Go outside, find a new flower, identify it: Email me what you have found. Color, and what size/shape would be great.
Research your favorite flower: In two paragraphs, tell me about your favorite flower, where did it originate? Is it an annual, perennial? Email me the details and a picture.
If you were getting married, what kind of flowers would you want to use in your bouquet? Email me, send me pictures and tell me what you think.
Draw something pretty: Draw something pretty and give it to someone in your family. It will make you both smile. Snap and picture of it and email it to me.
Tell me the best way to keep flowers fresh: In some towns, flower shops are not being considered essential businesses, is there anything that they can do to save their fresh flowers? What would you do if you owned a flower shop right now? Email me and tell me all about it.

Do some kind of workout: I’ll leave it up to you what you would like to do. There are TONS of free workouts out there right now. Email me, tell me how long your workout was, if you did it alone or with a family member, and what workout it was, the link for the workout would be great.
Write two paragraphs telling me how your diet has changed since we have been out of school. Email me your goodness.
