About The Image

The Image is published annually in the spring semester as an e-journal by the English Department of Southwestern Assemblies of God University to showcase the original creative works of the students, faculty, staff, administration, and alumni of the University.

Welcome

In this issue of The Image, you'll find good reads in genres ranging from memoir to short story to devotionals: 46 submissions' worth, to be exact. These submissions came from SAGU students, faculty, staff, and alumni.

Our talented student editorial staff was led by this year's Senior Editor, the fearless Grace Post, who kept everyone (including her advisor at times!) communicating and working together. Our staff worked tirelessly to read submissions, conduct interviews, and complete assignments to learn about publishing an e-journal.

Be sure to check out our feature article written about SAGU-AIC by Keilah Villa, an English M.A. student who is also the SAGU-AIC Librarian. Under our Student Life section, you'll find an interview with SAGU Worship's own Nathan and Meredith Jones. In God Moments, we have devotionals and reflections written by several from our campus family, including an alumna serving on the mission field.

Pull up a chair, grab a beverage of your choice, and enjoy this year's issue.

Hello, Readers, and welcome to the 2022-2023 Edition of The Image!

I am so thankful I got the opportunity to work with this wonderful team this semester. From reviewing submissions to developing the website to writing articles of their own, this year's editors have put in the time and hard work to make this edition possible!

As you read through, be sure to check out our Stories section for original short stories by Rakel Bryant and Jeweliet Coffee. Also, check out the Student Life section for a few articles on what's been happening around campus this past year!
