LEVEL 1 MATHEMATICS AND STATISTICS – NUM
Learning Area: Mathematics and Statistics
Qualification: NCEA Level 1
This is a vocational Year 11 to 13 Mathematics and Statistics course. This course is designed to enable ākonga to gain the NCEA Numeracy co-requisite as well as giving them the mathematical and statistical skills required for the workplace.
Course Components:
CAA U/S 32406 Apply mathematics and statistics in a range of everyday situations (Numeracy co-requisite)
A/S 1.1 Explore data using a statistical enquiry process (Internal, 5 credits)
A/S 1.2 Explore mathematical problems that relate to life in Aotearoa New Zealand or the Pacific (Internal, 5 credits)

Entry Recommendations:
The HoLA of Mathematics and Statistics will be overseeing which ākonga gain entry into this vocational course. Ākonga entering this course will have not yet achieved the Numeracy CAA. Ideally ākonga will have demonstrated a range of Level 4/5 mathematical and statistical skills that are detailed in the New Zealand Curriculum.
