SENIOR LITERACY – LIT

Learning Area: English

Qualification: NCEA Level 1 and Level 1 Literacy

This course is designed for students who have yet to achieve the Literacy co-requisite.  Ākonga will begin with targeted learning towards the Writing and Reading Common Assessment Activities in Term Two.   After this there are opportunities for students to complete English assessments both internally and externally.

Course Components:

• Read for enjoyment and understanding

• Develop your writing skills

• Communicate ideas verbally and visually

• Become information literate

• Make connections between texts

• Close view visual texts

• Prepare for exams
