This course focuses on New Zealand regions as tourist destinations, in particular Canterbury and a North Island region of their choice. Learners will then look at Queenstown as a case study for tourist destinations. As part of this, they experience this destination on a field trip to Queenstown. They will learn about New Zealand as a tourist destination with an additional focus on New Zealand as a destination for international visitors. They also learn about the Pacific Islands and Australia as a visitor destination. As with all courses at Linwood College, this is an outline as to how this course might develop, however there is flexibility to adapt to learner needs and interests.
