LEVEL 3 PRODUCTION - L3PRO

Qualification: NCEA Level 3
This full year course for students wanting to explore the performing arts through performance, directing and technical stage work. The first half of the year will be focussed on a teacher directed musical or play. The second half of the year will be focussed on student led and managed productions. Learners will have the opportunity to gain credits by selecting their own Assessment standards from a pool that covers costume design, special effects make-up, directing, acting, techniques, prop making, stage managing and lighting design.
Course Components:
Term 1 and 2
Teacher directed musical/play
Performance technologies such as costume, stage management, stage make-up, sound and technical skills.
Term 3 and 4
Student directed/led play
Devising and creating students own scripts for performances
Performance technologies such as costume, stage management, stage make-up, sound and technical skills.
Possible Achievement Standards/Unit Standards: Range from 17-25 credits
It is advised that most students attempt a minimum number of 14 credits.
Year 13 students who wish to use Drama as one of their UE approved subjects, must select a course that includes 14 credits of Achievement Standards. (The technical standards do not count towards UE)
