LEVEL 3 PAINTING – L3PAI

Learning Area: Arts

Qualification: NCEA Level 3

Students will continue with their art making specialty from level 2, students will extend their work focusing on the external folio. Students will be able to develop their own body of work, select their own artist models and generate work that is truly their own.

Students who are wanting to work in any creative fields, engineering, product design, science based fields can also benefit from working in the Arts.

Students will develop problem solving, project-management and analytical thinking through working through their folios.

Course Components:

Exploring more in depth drawing models and painting techniques

Developing your own subject matter and ideas for your artmaking

Extending this both thematically and technically into an external folio.

External Credits: 14

Internal Credits: 8 (12 credits for internal only course)

Literacy: 4

Entry Recommendations: Students need to have completed level 2 in their chosen field in order to have this as an UE subject. Students who have not completed Level 2 can select this for an internal only programme, but must discuss with HOLA.
