The theme we are exploring for Level 3 History is Alliances and Autonomy with a focus on historical places and events locally and in the Pacific region. In this course, you will develop your skills in research interpretation, evaluation, historical analysis and critical thinking. There will be a number of assessments on offer throughout the year, which focus on source interpretation, historical writing, research, your interpretation of history and people’s perspectives. We explore the local Horomaka/Banks Peninsula region including Akaroa. We will also look at the War in the Pacific when investigating our international example in relation to the theme of “alliances and autonomy”.
