LEVEL 3 HISTORY – L3HIST

Qualification: NCEA Level 3
This course is suitable for students at Levels 3 with an interest in History, leadership, politics and the law. It will appeal to students with competent English skills who enjoy research and want to develop their ability to craft an argument. The content of the course can be shaped to reflect student interest. The overall theme for the year is conflict, with students looking at conflict in New Zealand and abroad. Students will look at the conflicts between Ngāti Toa and Ngāi Tahu and take their learning out of class visiting historical places in Waitaha/Canterbury. They will then look at The War in the Pacific for the international context. At this level students are encouraged to get out to the classroom and access sources in the wider community. This subject meets University Entry requirements.
