This full year course is for those who wish to express themselves through Dance and movement in a safe and supportive environment. Students will recap the elements of dance and use choreographic devices to create their own movement, presenting their ideas in group and solo pieces. Work is predominantly practical with opportunities to explore, compare and contrast a range of social and cultural dance styles and to analyse live and recorded dance performances.

Level 3 Dance is a UE subject course which requires a high level of skill in choreographic and performance work, building on the learner’s practical and theoretical knowledge.


Students are expected to wear appropriate clothing and bare feet/dance shoes to allow full range of movement in dance class


Course Components:

Research and analysis, individual and group choreography, performance.

Performance technologies -stage make-up, lighting ,sound, costuming,use of props and stage set design.


Term 3: Assessment Showcase, Live performances
