Physics explains how the world works. This course investigates the basic principles that underpin how the universe behaves – from the very big to the very small and will utilise practical work to understand the principles governing the universe. As well as preparing learners for L3 Physics, this course supports Physical Science, Engineering, Health Science, Architecture and Aviation pathways. 

Course Components:

A.S 2.5 - Demonstrate understanding of atomic and nuclear physics (3 credits)

A.S 2.1 - Carry out a practical physics investigation that leads to a non-linear mathematical relationship (4 credits)

A.S - Demonstrate understanding of mechanics (6 credits)

A.S - Demonstrate understanding of waves (4 credits)

Optional A.S - Demonstrate understanding of electricity and electromagnetism (6 credits)
