LEVEL 2 PAINTING – L2VIA

Learning Area: Arts

Qualification: NCEA Level 2

In this course learners will generate and develop their own artmaking ideas based around their own theme. They will have the opportunity to explore their ideas through Painting and mixed Media. Working collaboratively to create work, as well as individually.

Learners will have the opportunity to exhibit their work to the wider community. EOTC will help inform and develop ideas for the artwork.

Learners who are wanting to work in any creative fields, engineering, product design, science based fields can also benefit from working in the Visual Arts.

Learners will develop problem solving, project-management and analytical thinking through working through their folios.

Course Components:

Exploring more in depth drawing models and painting techniques

Developing your own subject matter and ideas for your artmaking

Extending this both thematically and technically into an external folio.

Entry Recommendations: It would be advised that level 1 would be advantageous, however not essential.
