LEVEL 2 Outdoor Education – L2OED

Learning Area: Health & Physical Education

Qualification: NCEA Level 2

Learners will take part in outdoor activities in our local area, plus some overnight experiences. They will learn about sustainability issues and how we can support our local hapori (community) and Te Taiao (environment).

Course Components:

Waka Ama

Camping/tramping

Navigation and reading maps/compasses

Kaitiakitanga

Internal Credits:                                23+ (Unit standard credits)

Entry Recommendations:                     An interest in exploring and learning about the outdoors. A reasonable level of fitness and the ability to uphold all Ngā Uara (School values) as we represent our school every week within our hapori (community). A signed contract by learner and whānau, agreeing to the course expectations.
