This full year course for students wanting to explore the performing arts through stage work. The first half of the year will be focussed on theatre forms and Drama techniques. The second half of the year will be focussed on devising (creating theatre) and a major production. Learners will have the opportunity to study: production area, special effects make-up, directing, writing, dance, major production, techniques, prop making, stage managing and costume design.


Learners will also be taught an overview of the history and performance techniques used in drama, this will assist them in their exam at the end of the year. It follows on from what they have learnt within the junior programme. Students will also have the opportunity to view live theatre. Learners will also be expected to be involved in a class production as part of this course.
