LEVEL 1 Physical Education – L1PE
Learning Area: Health & Physical Education
Qualification: NCEA Level 1
This course will allow learners to explore sports science, sports sociology, kotahitanga, interpersonal skills, and quality performance through different movement contexts. There is also the opportunity to explore how movement impacts our hauora (wellbeing) and the relationship with Te ao Māori and movement. The course will have 2x theory each week and 2x practical each week (sometimes more).

Sports science - how the body moves and functions. Biomechanics, anatomy
Kotahitanga - interpersonal skills and working with others
Movement and Hauora (wellbeing)
Sports sociology
Te ao Māori aspects and movements
Sociocultural impacts on movement
