LEVEL 1 MUSIC – L1MUS

In this course students will focus learning towards 

Music Technology: Students will learn skills transferable to employment in music. The new school is equipped with modern, up to date software and programs that students can learn to use and understand live sound,recording and producing music.

Music Instrumental: Students will further develop their skill on instruments. Students will participate in bands and groups and have the opportunity to showcase talent in a performance setting.

Exploring music: Students will focus on the songwriting and composition unit. Exploring lyrics, song structure, and acquiring an understanding of compositional devices.

Course Components:

Music course consists of 4 sections / 5 credits each

1.1 Use music skills in a music style Internal 

1.2 Demonstrate Performance Skills Internal 

1.3 Demonstrate understanding of music in relation to contexts External

1.4 Music: Shape music ideas to create an original composition External

Entry Recommendations: There are no prerequisites for this course. Playing a musical instrument is advised. There is an emphasis on performance skills thus learners are expected to be enrolled in tuition in an instrument either through the college, or privately.
