The theme for level one history is protest with a strong focus on social history. The first term includes a trip to Ripapa Island where we strengthen our knowledge with our local history and ties to the Parihaka protests. The Springbok Tour and the American Civil Rights movement are our nex topics throughout the year. It will appeal to students who enjoy researching, and want to develop their ability to craft an argument. Learners will be able to shape their own course from a selection of standards, depending on their abilities and interests. Credits may be obtained from just the internal standards or from a combination of internal and external standards.
