LEVEL 1 DESIGN & VISUAL COMMUNICATION – L1DVC

This course is designed for learners who are interested in design (products), - product design

It is made up of  Achievement Standards. Learners will produce a portfolio of work throughout the year. They will learn to research,  produce freehand sketches to generate ideas and visually communicate and unpack these ideas in response to a brief.

Course Components:

Design influence: A look at influencing designs from supplementary sources including influences from Te ao Māori and incorporating these ideas in your own design.

Product design. Design a new product from a design brief and learn all the steps of the design process.

Produce hand drawn and instrumental work (drawing with rulers)

Present your work in a year long portfolio using your new skills, models and presentation techniques.
