Hello! My name is Dr. O'Neil, and I am your new District Superintendent. I am very excited to join the Lindenwold School District. I've been working in education for approximately 25 years.

Before coming to Lindenwold, and throughout my career, I served in Gloucester County as a Superintendent, a Chief Academic Officer, and Principal. I also served as a Teacher and even a High School Coach. I love teaching so I continue to teach at two different universities. This helps me stay up to date with educational research, and it helps me to not lose focus of what it is like to be in a classroom.

I believe that education and learning are the most powerful drives you can have. So I, too, have returned to the classroom to learn as well. Now I am studying Spanish. Although my husband speaks Spanish and can help me, I knew I needed a teacher because I need a LOT of help. Since our students come to school every day learning to read, write, and speak in English, I wanted to try and do the same to learn to read, write and speak in Spanish! I already feel lucky because I have met some great staff who can help me, and as we know, students and educators are the best teammates!

I am looking forward to meeting everyone, especially the students. What made me decide to make Lindenwold my new home was the relationship between the students and the staff. There is a true sense of love, respect, and mutual concern. I have even been told the same from friends, colleagues, and other administrators from other districts. What a beautiful compliment!

I have been meeting and speaking with other Lindenwold administrators, and even had the opportunity to visit all of the schools and see some of the classrooms. I will continue to work with the transition team as I prepare to begin my new adventure; and I really appreciate all of the help I am receiving, especially from the Acting Superintendent, Ms. Kathleen Huder. I couldn't do it without her!

I have been paying attention and following some of what the students are learning. I can see how hard everyone is working, and I have also been following the hard work of our athletes. Congratulations to everyone who had an amazing fall season! I also really hope there may be a way our dance, music and theater programs can return to perform at school sometime this school year. Fingers crossed!

I thank you all for listening to me today. I wanted to take this opportunity to introduce myself very quickly. I am excited to start on March 1st of this upcoming year. ¡Hola! Buenos días. Soy su nueva superintendente del distrito escolar de Lindenwold, Doctora Kristen O'Neil. Estoy muy emocionada de unirme al distrito escolar de Lindenwold.
