Thanksgiving Recipes (1).pdfFloral Design is a class at LCHS that students can earn their Agriculture credit and Arts & Humanities credit. After learning about the Elements of Design (color, texture, line, pattern, shape, etc.) students were tasked with creating pumpkins that were a character from a favorite book or movie; they had to include at least 3 of the Elements of Design. The pumpkins were grown by LCHS students.

We have been learning all about hydraulics in my agricultural power class. To show their knowledge, students were to create a model of a hydraulic lift, explain how hydraulics work, and why we need them in the agriculture industry. This is Braxton Cooper showing off his lift.
Cooper Hydraulic Lift.3gpWhile we were in person, students got to learn how to operate several tools. One tool we didn’t make it to was a miter saw, so I taught about its usage and mitered cuts online. To get some practice and show what they learned, students were to create a picture frame. Home Depot in Lexington generously donated materials I could get to students. This is Aaron Maddox using some of his own supplies and some that I mailed him making a beautiful picture frame with a miter saw and showing off those mitered cuts!
