Napanee District Secondary SChool

NDSS is a 9-12 school located in Greater Napanee. Currently, NDSS hosts two Red Seal SHSM Program options for senior students: Arts & Culture and Transportation. Both of these SHSM options are delivered through regular student programming, with enrichment and certification opportunities offered both within and beyond the school day for registered students. NDSS is able to offer all necessary requirements for the completion of both of these SHSM diplomas, including unique course offerings such as Yearbook, Music for Creating, Autobody, and Heavy Equipment.

Arts and culture

Students in our Arts & Culture SHSM have the opportunity to earn their Red Seal through courses in the visual arts, dramatic arts, musical arts, or any combination of these specialties.

Successful completion of an Arts & Culture SHSM Red Seal diploma involves a course package including four (4) senior level Arts credits, one (1) senior level English course, one (1) senior level Business Studies or Canadian and World Studies credit, and two (2) Cooperative Education credits. Additionally, students will complete a total of six (6) sector-recognized certification courses, participate in experiential learning opportunities, career exploration in the sector, and Reach Ahead activities.

Transportation

Students in our Transportation SHSM have the opportunity to earn their Red Seal through courses in auto mechanics, autobody, small engines, or any combination of these specialties.

Successful completion of a Transportation SHSM Red Seal diploma involves a course package including four (4) senior level Transportation credits, one (1) senior level English course, one (1) senior mathematics course, one (1) senior level Business Studies or Science credit, and two (2) Cooperative Education credits. Additionally, students will complete a total of seven (7) sector-recognized certification courses, participate in experiential learning opportunities, career exploration in the sector, and Reach Ahead activities.
