Bayridge Secondary SChool

Welcome to Bayridge Secondary School where we provide an incredible and complete range of programming and pathway opportunities for all our students. Bayridge is the "hidden gem" located in the West end of Kingston that is large enough to provide numerous and diverse learning opportunities and programming but small enough that we we are able to individualize that programming by knowing each and every one of our students! We are a comprehensive high school that provides our students with an excellent bridge between high school and university, college and the workplace.

We offer many unique programs including AP Pathway and Programming, our three SHSM programs and our very own BCSP (Bayridge Computer Specialist Program) which is the ONLY grade 9 to 12 computer specialist program in Limestone with a partnership with Queen's University. In addition to the academic opportunities offered to students, the school has excellent sports, arts, music and extracurricular programs as well as over 25 special interest clubs ranging from Eco-Team to Duke of Edinburgh, Mathletes to Cybersecurity! We have a "spot" for everyone!

Arts and culture

Our Arts and Culture SHSM enables students to flourish in all areas of the Arts whether it be music, drama, fine arts, photography or dance. Our students have the opportunity to explore a range or focus in on a particular sector of interest as it relates to the Arts and then share their artistic passion with the rest of the school and our community through their involvement with various activities with our Arts Council. Our SHSM is a great opportunity to boost a portfolio when applying to various Art programs and positions.

Environment

Our Environment SHSM enables students to "make a difference in the world" with the variety of programs, learning activities and clubs that center around our environment. Along with great academic programming options, students are able to practically explore ideas and goals that directly impact our local and global environment. Whether that be pursuing ECO-friendly initiatives in our ECO-Team, assisting with the school's Ecoschools Canada program, building their portfolio for the Duke of Edinburgh Awards program or learning together through workshops with local post-secondary institutions: Queen's University, St. Lawrence College, our students have ample opportunities and support to "make that difference!"
