In particular we will focus on two great ‘public’ poems, Easter 1916 and September 1939. The class is aimed at parents and students alike.

Philosophie Environnementale - de l'esthétique à l'éthique by Mathieu Bonin presented in French

Lifestyle Design - Interiors - Exteriors - Events by Melinda Brownstone recording not available

Melinda Brownstone is a born and bred Angeleno. She began her career in design at the age of 11, creating her first fashion design. As an adult she developed a love of the outdoors and gardening, a trait she inherited from her organic gardener mother. After years of training she started her own landscape company. A client who’d hired her to do an exterior project asked her if she could make her interior look like she had made her exterior look. Melinda was up for the challenge and so began her 25-year career as a lifestyle designer. She has a panoply of talent in a variety of traits that have translated into her becoming one of Hollywood’s most sought-after designers. From a bottom up build, to a children’s party, to a lavish wedding, to creating an outdoor oasis, or set design on a film, she does it all. She currently works out of Los Angeles and is the owner of Brownstone Designs. See examples of her creations here.

In this master class Melinda will discuss how she started in the business, what skills are most valuable, how to embark on a career in the field of design, and answer any questions you may have.

I am a veterinary medical officer for the USDA APHIS Animal Care. It is a non-traditional path for a veterinarian. Eco-gardening with Science! by Julien Riviere presented in English/French

During these crazy times of confinement, we've all realized that having access to some nature is important for our sanity. If you are lucky enough to have your own piece of greenery, whether it be a balcony with potted plants, a patio with containers or a full blown garden, you've probably noticed how finicky plants can be. Why is my citrus tree turning yellow? Why are my bougainvilleas refusing to bloom? How can I use nature itself to keep those damn aphids from eating my potted bamboos? The purpose of this class will be to explore some of the scientific concepts of ecology that anyone can apply to keep our green friends thriving, without spending a fortune on nasty chemicals.
