Turning It Up with Flipped Classroom

Description:You will learn how use Google Hangout on Air to flip your lessons. Google hangout on Air and an unlisted Youtube channel will provide a wide variety of ways to present materials and allow for collaboration in your classroom. In this course, you will learn the basics of creating videos and mini lessons for students. While using other google tools, we will also explore creative ways to implement videos and lessons into your curriculum.Participants will come away from the session with a firm understanding of how to use interactive resources and media to encourage student-centered learning, communication and collaboration.

Description: This session is designed for users who are NEW to using Google Drive. Google Drive encompasses Google Docs, Sheets, Forms and Slides that permit collaborative editing and sharing. Learn how to use these tools that can effectively be used in transforming your classroom.

Learning in the Digital Age: Using Tools for Storytelling

Description: Sharing your story is a journey, sometimes a difficult one. This workshop is designed to take you through the process of writing that story from an idea to a completed digital story. During this time, you will learn about digital tools, copyright resources and ways to publish your story. The process you go through will be similar to that you will take your students on.

Using the iPad: The Right App for the Right Time

Description: Are you just starting an iPad implementation in your classes? Eager to gain some clarity on navigating the setup procedures to manage and supervise iPads in your building? Join us at this beginner, user-friendly session to explore those concerns and to evaluate some popular apps along with the iPad’s built-in productivity tools that can be used to support educational activities. In this workshop, attendees will examine one teacher’s planning to create tech-infused lessons throughout an 8th grade Expeditionary Learning ELA unit. After exploring select apps and processes for purposeful tool selection, you will then review your own unit and adapt these practices to create your own tech-infused lessons and digital learning management resources. Come join us for this full-day, hands-on odyssey!
