Unit 4: Division of Whole Numbers

  • Determine the relationship between the input number and the output number in a table.
  • Use numerical expressions to represent a number pattern in an input-output table.
  • Problem solve using input-output tables.
  • Solve one and two-step word problems involving division.
  • Interpret the remainder in a word problem.
  • Find the quotient of a four-digit whole number divided by a one-digit divisor using different strategies.
  • Develop a plan to solve a given multi-step problem.
  • Describe the steps you used to complete a long division problem.
  • Describe the relationship between the dividend and the divisor.

Unit 5: All Operations

  • Solve with fluency one- and two-step problems involving multiplication and division, including interpreting remainders.
  • Represent multi-step problems involving the four operations with whole numbers using strip diagrams and equations with a letter standing in for the unknown quantity.
  • Add and subtract whole numbers and decimals to the hundredths place using the standard algorithm

Unit 5: Force and Motion

  • Design an experiment to test the force of gravity on an object.
  • Design an experiment to test the force of friction on an object.
  • Design an experiment to test the force of magnetism on an object.

Unit 6: Slow Changes to Earth

  • Observe and identify slow changes to Earth’s surface caused by weathering, erosion, and deposition from water, wind, and ice.
