Mr. Murphy is a proud alumnus of Drum Corps International, having marched with the Sky Ryders based out of Texas, and The Blue Devils from California. After aging out of the activity, he served on the brass staffs of Blue Devils B, Cadets, Blue Knights, Blue Devils, and Santa Clara Vanguard. Now retired from the all aspects of drum corps, Mr. Murphy spends his summers mountain biking, playing disc golf, flying his drone, filming and editing various projects, and traveling around the country with his family in their RV.
Mr. Murphy has been married to his beautiful wife Kim Murphy since 2002, and has two amazing sons, Mason & Hayden, two rambunctious Siberian Huskies, Daphnis and Chloe, and two crazy cats, Cocoa and Mello.Ashlynne Turner

Click for BioMr. Zimerman earned his Music Education Degree from the University of Houston, where he performed with the Wind Ensemble under the Direction of Tom Bennett and the Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Franz Anton Krager. He also was a member of the Percussion Ensemble under Dr. Blake Wilkins and had the honor of performing in a showcase concert at PASIC 2006. Mr. Zimerman was a marching member of Carolina Crown Drum and Bugle Corps in 2004.
Before coming to Liberty Hill, Mr. Zimerman was Percussion Director/ Assistant Director at several schools in the Houston area. Ensembles under the direction of Mr. Zimerman have performed at the Music For All National Percussion Festival in Indianapolis and the TMEA Convention in San Antonio. Under his direction, bands have advanced to the UIL Texas State Marching band contest 5 times, including 2 finals appearances, along with winning several outstanding percussion awards at various contests.
Mr. Zimerman is a Percussion Education Artist with Innovative Percussion, and his professional affiliates are The TMEA and The Percussive Arts Society. Mr. Zimerman lives in Bertram, Texas with his wife, Emily, and their daughter.
Mr. Baird is a 1979 graduate of L.C. Anderson High School in Austin Texas, where he played and sang in as many groups as he could. After obtaining a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from Abilene Christian University in 1984, Mr. Baird studied Saxophone Performance at Central Missouri State University for his Master’s Degree in 1986. The performance degree led to tour of duty in the US Air Force, playing in the Concert Band, Jazz Ensemble, Service Combos and Rock Bands for the Military Airlift Command – now known as the Air Force Band of Mid-America.
Mr. Baird is currently in his 16th year with the Panther Band program, where he works with Beginners through High School on Saxes, Clarinets and Flutes. He also works closely with the Panther Jazz programs at the Junior High and High School, and is very proud to be a part of the outstanding Liberty Hill Panther Band program.
Mr. Baird is married to the lovely Gwyneth Baird of Cedar Park, Texas, where they live with the family dog, Cleo. Their beautiful daughters are married and off their telephone and insurance bills and changing the world in their own special ways. Catie Reed is a Child Life Specialist working with children in Florida. Abbie Baird rules Houston and is beginning work on a Master’s Degree in Social Work.
Mr. Baird is a member of TMEA and TJEA. He plays in a local R&B band, “Rhythm Congress” and serves as an elder of the Westover Hills Church.

Mr. Clarkson is the product of the thriving metropolis of Muleshoe, Texas, and now he, his wife Callie, and three sons, Taylor, Andrew, and Ryan are one of Liberty Hill’s newest residences. He has been the Head Band Director for Liberty Hill Junior High School since fall of 2013 and will continue as head director of Liberty Hill Middle School
Mr. Clarkson earned a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Texas State University (formerly Southwest Texas State University) and a Master’s degree in Educational Administration from Concordia University Texas. He began directing bands in 2001 after several years of teaching privately for the Austin and Leander school districts.
Mr. Clarkson enjoys working with his students and says the biggest reward in his career is seeing his students succeed and develop into respectful, responsible citizens.
Michelle Scroggie is joining our district this year. She comes from Fredericksburg where she was an Assistant Band Director and Colorguard Director since 2018.
Mrs. Scroggie earned her BM cum laude in Instrumental Music Education from Oklahoma State University. While at OSU, she toured the Midwest and Japan as a member of the OSU Symphony Orchestra and OSU Wind Ensemble, performed as a finalist for the National Flute Association Collegiate Flute Choir, taught at the Oklahoma City Floot Fire summer camp, and led the OSU Cowboy Marching Band as a drum major. She went on to earn an MM in Flute Performance from the University of Alabama, where she was a Graduate Instructor for the piccolo section of the UA Million Dollar Band, directed the UA flute choir, and performed with the UA Contemporary Ensemble at the National Flute Association's 2016 convention.
She is married to Jeremiah Ward, and together they have a giant son named Harrison who will someday be a band nerd, too.
Mr. Perrin graduated from Rocky Hill High School in 1991. Attended Texas Tech University where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education. He began his teaching career in Lubbock Independent School District as Head Director of Bands at O.L. Slaton Junior High. After spending two years in Lubbock, he was selected as the Assistant Band Director at Liberty Hill Junior High. In 2009 Mr. Perrin was given the opportunity to become the Director of Bands for Liberty Hill Independent School District. In 2017 Mr. Perrin was selected as the Fine Arts Coordinator for Liberty Hill ISD. After 12 years as Director of Band, Mr. Perrin has decided to cut back and spend more time with his family. He will be a director at Santa Rita Middle School.
Mr. Perrin was married to his wife, Shirley, in 2004. They have three beautiful girls Amelia, Hannah, and Charlotte.
Mr. Perrin is active in St. John’s United Methodist Church in Austin. He enjoys spending his free time with his family, playing golf and grilling out on his back deck.
Mr. Perrin is an active member of TMEA and ATSSB. He has judged Area Marching competitions, solo and ensemble competitions and was invited to Judge the El Paso Independent School District Junior High Concert and Sight Reading contest.
