About Mrs. Wright

Hello! My name is Codie Wright and I am so excited to be your 3rd grade AGP teacher! This will be my ninth year teaching at Leaphart Elementary. Time flies! I taught 2nd grade for five years before moving to 3rd grade AGP, where I have been for the past few years. I am so excited for the journey of learning and growing in 3rd grade together!

My childhood

I am from the small town of Chester, South Carolina. Chester is located halfway between Columbia, SC, and Charlotte, NC.

Growing up, I attended Chester County Public Schools through 7th grade. From there, I transferred to Richard Winn Academy in Winnsboro, SC for 8th-12th grades.

My Education

In May 2017, I graduated Magna Cum Laude from The University of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education. During my time at USC I was blessed to be a SC Teaching Fellow.

I have also received my Gifted and Talented certification through Converse College. I have also received my Bachelor's+18 from taking graduate courses offered through District Five.

My family

I live in Irmo with my husband, David, our sweet baby Sullivan, and our precious Cavapoo, Murray. Sullivan was born in April 2024 and is so much fun! He loves to snack, run, play outside, and go swimming. Murray will be turning four in November and is the perfect "big brother" to Sullivan.

Our extended family lives in Chester, SC. We love to travel there and spend time together. You will hear me talk a lot about my 3 nephews, Bricksen, Palmer, and Phoenix. They are so much fun! You will also probably meet my mom this year. She loves to volunteer and read to our class.
