About me
My name is Ms. Kim Castell. To tell you a little bit about myself, I received my BA in Elementary Education at Western Kentucky University. My Masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction came from Grand Canyon University and I have my Gifted & Talented endorsement through Converse College.
I have 5 children of my own. My oldest is 29. She lives and works in Colorado. My oldest son is 27, a former Sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps and currently in the Navy Reserves. He lives and works in North Carolina. My 18 year old is in college in Colorado! I also have a 17 and a 12 year old. They are Lex-Rich5 students, so I am completely invested in the community.
In my time away from teaching, I enjoy going on adventures with my children and watching them in their activities. I also play, coach & referee soccer throughout the week. I am on a committee with the Columbia Police Department too. While we are a busy family, but I wouldn’t have it any other way!
This is my 26th year of teaching at the elementary level. I’ve taught in IN, FL, AR and this is my 12th year in South Carolina.
