8th Grade Social Studies

This is my 16th year teaching Social Studies in South Carolina. This year I will also serve as the Gifted and Talented Coordinator at CMS which includes the PSAT administration in October. I am a former lawyer who changed careers to share my passion for history with young people. I have never looked back! I am also married with two sons who are now both in grad school. They are both products of Chapin schools. I taught at Chapin Middle School for ten years and then took a two year hiatus at VirtualSC.  I had the chance to build Social Studies curriculum for the State Department of Education and taught 7th and 8th Social Studies as well as U.S. Government classes to high school seniors. I returned to "in person" teaching at CMS in 2024 and was so glad to be back with my Chapin family. I am ready for another great year!
