5th Grade Math and Science Teacher
Chapin Intermediate School
Marc Alexander has been teaching math and science for 14 years. Mr. Alexander has a bachelor's degree in elementary education from the University of South Carolina Upstate, master's degree in STEM curriculum development from Nova Southeastern and a master's degree in administration and leadership from the University of South Carolina. He enjoys bringing a real world feel to educate learners. He believes that children learn best when they are given an opportunity to explore content by seeing, saying and doing. He feels that teaching the whole learner is just as important as the content being taught. His classroom can generally be heard filled with laughter and conversation as learners collaborate to solve problems and build their own meaning of content.
When Marc Alexander is not at school he can be found with his three kids and wife either hiking in the woods or enjoying Lake Murray. He enjoys cooking, camping, spending time on the lake and attempting to catch fish. Mr. Alexander is excited to be a part of the Chapin Intermediate family.
