English Language Arts
I have worked as a professional educator since 1998. My service in District Five began in 2003, teaching English Language Arts at Chapin Middle School. I am highly qualified in elementary education and middle-level English language arts, and I received my Gifted and Talented endorsement in 2005. In 2007, I completed the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards Certification in English Language Arts/Early Adolescence, and renewed my certification in 2016. In both 2013 and 2022, I completed my Read to Succeed certification.
Outside school, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, reading, cooking, working out at Crooked Creek Park, and hiking trails in South Carolina's state parks. I'm also involved with my church and in the local community.
I greatly enjoy working with middle school students and look forward to another amazing year!
