Welcome to Mrs. White's Art Room!
About Me:
Greetings! I'm Mrs. White, and I'm passionate about teaching Art. My journey in education began back in 2012 when I started as an Art teacher at Harbison West Elementary School in Lexington School District Five. After four enriching years there, I transitioned to Chapin Middle School, where I've been teaching 7th and 8th-grade Art for the past ten years.
Education:
I'm proud to be a product of the local community, having grown up in Irmo, SC, and graduated from Dutch Fork High School. Following my passion, I pursued a degree in Art Education at the University of South Carolina in Columbia. I specialized in photography and ceramics, earning my certification in Art Education.
Teaching Philosophy:
Art isn't just about creating; it's about understanding and appreciating the world around us. In my classroom, I strive to impart not only artistic techniques but also a deeper understanding of the cultural and historical significance of art. I want every student to leave my class with a newfound appreciation for creativity and the confidence to express themselves through art.
Outside Interests:
When I'm not in the classroom, you can often find me in the kitchen experimenting with new recipes, exploring new destinations through travel, or simply enjoying quality time with my family.
Get in Touch:
I'm thrilled to embark on this artistic journey with you! Feel free to reach out to me via email or by phone if you have any concerns or questions.
Let's create something beautiful together!
