Hello!  

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself as the school counselor at Dutch Fork Elementary.  My purpose is to help each student reach their full potential by building upon their developing academic, social and emotional skills.  I provide monthly instruction to all students on a variety of topics, including developing responsibility, understanding and managing emotions, improving friendship skills, making good decisions, and building self-esteem.  In addition, I work with some students individually, or in small group counseling sessions.  As part of my role at DFES, I regularly consult with staff members, parents, and outside agencies to coordinate efforts in assisting children and families.  I am also available to discuss parenting issues like discipline or communicating with your child.  Working with children provides me with many rewarding opportunities, and I am very pleased to be a part of the Dutch Fork family.  If I can assist you or your student in any way., I invite you to contact me by phone or email. 

Prior to working at Dutch Fork Elementary School, I taught high school biology in Indiana for many years.  I have worked as a school counselor at middle and high school levels as well, and have many years of experience as an educator.  I enjoy time with my husband and family, keeping up with my cat, reading, working out and finding a good bargain!
