Hello everyone! We are eighth-grade students from the Mandarin class at Clarke Middle School. Although we are just middle school students, we have friends as pen pals in Taiwan, we also entered Chinese restaurants, and observed all kinds of customers. We are eager to learn more about culture and embark on a journey to see the world together.

About Teacher Chen:
Hi, My students, parents and guardians.
My name is Chia-Pei Chen (陳佳蓓/陈佳蓓). Just call me Chen Lǎoshī (Teacher Chen) . I grew up in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. I earned my Ph.D. 's degree in Journalism and passed the exam for a certificate of teaching Mandarin as foreign language in Taiwan and in the U.S. Before moving here, I have been living in many countries with my husband, which includes Singapore, Denmark, France, and Taiwan.
I design and apply diverse instructions in class and I am embracing different cultures throughout my teaching. I believe languages serve as a bridge for linking students and equipping students with a unique lens through which to view the world. It is a privilege to be a teacher, and a responsibility that I take very seriously. I feel fortunate to be able to teach a subject that I love, and to spend my days helping my students grow confidence in mastering a difficult language.
