Welcome students and families!

My name is Ryan Oates, and I am the 8th Grade ELA Teacher for Team Harmony.

One of my main values is openness. I aim to be open to new people, places, and experiences. I look forward to learning with and from my students this year.

I grew up in southern Ohio, and moved to Massachusetts to pursue an M.Ed. at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. After living in Springfield for one year, I moved to Lowell, where I currently reside. As the saying goes, "Grow where you're planted." 🌻

I am a lover of languages, literature, and art. I also enjoy traveling, both within the USA and around the world. 🌏

As a teacher, one of my favorite moments is when I get to learn what a student is passionate about, and find ways to build those interests into my class.
