Our Primary Focus/Goals

  • To develop and promote a climate and culture in the district that ALL employees are treated with inclusion and equity.

  • To assist the district with the recruitment, retention and promotion to increase the presence of diverse faculty and staff.

  • To advocate for policy change.

  • To support staff to be culturally aware, competent, and relevant.

  • To build bridges to students, families, and local communities.

  • To empower its membership.

Action Plans

Recruitment

  • Assist HR with job fairs

  • Assist administrators to establish and identify EOC that can participate in hiring committees

Retention

  • The EOC Affinity Group provides support for EOC (e.g. networking, resources, etc.)

  • The EOC Affinity Group collaborates with HR, administrators, and LEA to provide ways to foster healthy working relationships for employees of color in the district.

Promotion

  • Support the district to recruit and retain EOC by working closely with HR, administrators, and LEF.

  • Provide support and resources to foster healthy relationships with EOC and allies.

Events/Activities

  • Networking and social events to build relationships with EOC and/or allies

  • Lexington Learns Together Networking Luncheons and sessions

  • Book Clubs

  • Organize celebrations for different cultures

  • Panel Discussions
